It has something to do with having to disable the service then restarting the computer then re enabeling the service but also with when you plug the IR receiver in as well. Ok i have had some problems with the MCE IR thing as well and i can't remember how i got around it. (English is not my native language, sorry!) I appreciate any tipps regarding this whole case. Important question: Is my understanding right, that I can open a fresh (empty) config file in EG and ONLY add one of the two Microsoft MCE Remotes plugins (which one should work or do I need another MCE Remote plugin?) and the XMBC2 plugin and it should working with only these 2 plugins? Is the included XBMC2-Plugin (0.6.19) in EG 0.4.1.r1722 the newest one?
After opening EG on my PC (double click on EG tray icon) it was fixed.īecause of this bug and the fact that I wasnt able to send "1" to Kodi through EG from Harmony I started to play around with it as mentioned above and since then it has been never working again.Ĭould anybody give a detailed tutorial how to setup EG to get it working? Means: Pressing down on the harmony results on going down 2 entries in Kodi (for example in my movies list). However if I pressed down, up, left or right these IR signals have been sent twice to Kodi. In the first time (when it was working pretty good but not perfect), there was a strange bug: When I switched to PC activity on my Harmony it would start up Kodi just fine on my PC (EG already running in the systray). Honestly, it looks to me like EG is VERY buggy. I completely uninstalled EG and started again and from that on I wasnt able at all to get EG to receive (show in EG log) IR signals again. It received IR signals again, but one press on my harmony = 2 received IR signals in EG.
I also tried to add the plugin "Microsoft MCE Remote - Vista/Win7". EG then stopped receiving IR signals, means there have been no logged keys presses in EG. It has been working in the first time, but because of some bugs during I played around in EG and completely removed the config and readded it from scratch. In EG I tried adding the plugin "Microsoft MCE Remote", I have unchecked "Disable HID service".
The reason Iam using EG? Because I want to use my PC during Kodi is running (streaming to my TV via HDMI) and without EG Kodi needs nonstop focus to receive keystrokes - which totally sucks. I want to control Kodi on my PC with the Harmony 885 using the HP 5187-4593 RC6 receiver. I'm assuming I should switch everything to the MCE eHome transceiver unless there is some advantage to using the Hauppauge receiver also.Unfortunately I just cant get it to work with this config. If so, how I tell Nextpvr to use it? Is there an updated guide on using it with NextPVR? Is IRSS the best (and easiest - I'm already getting in over my head) tool to use? The wiki is old and there may have been advances. I tried installing IRSS following the sandbox wiki but my Hauppauge digital tuners (1609) don't have a Channel Changer option listed in devices (I see a Channel Changer option for an analog tuner) so I can't figure out how to tell NexttPVR to use IRSS. The main thing I'm missing is a way to get to the hidden menu on the TV Guide.
I currently have a Windows Media Center device installed on it which I use to control Nextpvr.
My remote is an X-Sight learning remote and I run JP1 RM so I have access to a database of different remote codes. Discrete on is important to me and don't want to lose it.
One thing I really like from that script is that it effectively gives me a discrete on for my computer (I have a macro that runs on my remote that turns on the computer if it is off but doesn't turn it off if it is on). I'm also running xbmccustomregis GSB script from when I was planning to run everything from Kodi (I like the Nextpvr interface better and had a few issues with Kodi). I also have an iMon receiver but I've disabled that after much frustration. If disable one or the other I loose some button functionality. I have both a eHome transceiver and a Hauppauge receiver using WinTVIR.exe running at the same time. Currently my remote setup mostly works but it is a kluge.
